Original story telling, well written, well made all around....possibly a classic.

I agree. The trailer was not inspiring. It's a love story which is probably not a big draw with this crowd, but I always appreciate a good one.

Can you review Inglorious Bastards or Section 9 for us instead?

i heard they cut out the fact that he was into punk music. i also heard they cut other things that were in the book to make the characters more likable to a wider audience however the cuts made them one dimensional.

the book is outstanding.
i loved the trailer so much that i went and bought the book. but i dont expect the movie to do much more than skim the surface covered by the book. i would think of the movie as inspired by the story in the book.
im hoping to love the movie for what it is. and i know the book is amazing. hoping to finish it tonite.

I wanted to, but then realized the dude is disappearing all the time (time trav..you get it) and it made me think this movie could be fucking awesome. It looks like it will be interesting and a good human drama as I thought The Fountain was. I also want to go back now and read the book, which I shelved a lot when I worked in a library.

i was going to warn you that the ending is sad but i didnt want to ruin it. all through the book its hinting at the ending, but its still sad and surprising when it ends

this movie sounds like a lame retelling of that horrible Keanu movie with the mailbox. How about reveiwing The Orphan, who turns out to be a 30 year old psychopath.

Has Paul-O ever correctly called what a film will end up being regarded as?
I guess this is original if those other sappy flicks where someone was communicating with a loved one through time never existed.

because he has to back to his real life. most of the time hes on his own normal timeline. occasionally, for times varying from seconds to hours, he slips in time, but within his lifetime, either forward or backwards in time.
sometimes he comes in contact with his past or future self, but mostly he lands around the girl (he also travels in location) at different ages.

i just wanna know why its not like mcfly in the deloreon
i dont care much about it but im just curious to know why either the writer or if in the story theyd explain why it varies
as long as they explain i'd be cool otherwise its gonna drive me bonkers

you are in the distinct minority. MojoPin was correct.
Rotten tomatoes- 39%.
when I see those numbers I usually push it to "watch on cable".
has anyone here seen the movie besides PaulO?

Remember, too, that Paul is one of the few defenders of The Happening out there.
The movie is about plants fucking killing people, people.

I have no desire to see this dreck. The Hurt Locker is still out there if you haven't seen that, and Inglourious Basterds is next week.

Like I give a fuck....I see endless amounts of derivative crap....besides I like a "GOOD"
love story. They just don't make them that often. Probably because society as whole prefers disgusting behavior and mindless empty motion.
I do like The Happening and Lady in the Water and I'm not even an M.Night Shyamalan
fan. People fall out of favor for various reasons. Rather than argue the point endlessly, I will simply say I find both films full of original thinking.

I have done my share of contributing to the downfall of society. I didn't think anyone would care.

I started reading this book @ the beginning of the summer and didn't know much about it other than I kept reading and hearing that people liked it.
What concerns me is that it will be to sappy (The trailer looked sappy). I wouldn't say the book was sappy but it rode right on the edge of it. I'm probably gonna catch this on DVD but before cable. It maybe great but I'm not willing to bet $30-$40.

loved the movie, and suprised by the critics reactions because everyone in the theater seemed to love it too. i mean, i didnt expect them to say it was a masterpiece...but they HATED it.
i thought they did a good job trimming stuff from the book that would only have been too complicated for a summer movie.
the only thing i didnt like was....
the way they changed the ending from the book. much better book ending.

he dies the same way, although they simplify that too-- it just happens once, whereas in the book you have major foreshadows from clare and from a different henry's perspective. but the real change is...they ended with him visiting alba at around age 10, and she yells-- go get mommy! so a young clare comes running out to hug a visiting henry about 5 years after his death. for me, the book ending is SO much better where she reads that one day he will come for her, when she is very old. and then he does. i like to imagine that maybe she died in his arms during that visit, just as he had once died in hers.

I saw the trailer when I had my period so I wanted to see it.
Now I want to see District 9 instead. Nothing on Mars that I've seen so far 3 rovers 3 landers resembles the aliens on dist 9(thankfully). And the "spaceships" on Mars are way smaller ,like single passenger smaller than your car. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/j3lehane/MarsCollageBig.jpg  When I was born my face was covered in a veil called a CAUL.The nurses said it was rare and I'd have second sight. I wasn't told this until my mid to late 30's,maybe early 40's.Now I know what the nurses meant...blessing and a curse.
