I'd like to say that this show was one of the best of the year. Not because Fez and Dave fought but because of the rawness of all the members of the show. Dave and Fez were both exhausted and as a result were more honest than ever.
Ron bared his soul regarding dead firefighters in Minnesota and showed a lot of love towards the McDonald children and their day at the orphanage. Hearing him reminisce with Flathead and Mitchell Walters was great. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall in that Hampton Inn conference room in Florida. I think the best shows are when Ron gives us a glimpse into his personal life. It seems to be happening a lot more often lately.
I wish Ron would write an autobiography so we can all learn more about this hero of common men.

Lately RB struck me as being in a really ornery mood - short with everyone from staff to callers to people within the topics that were being discussed. He laid into that one guy who called in to whine about people in the R&Z community using the show to air the dirty laundry of their melodrama. He vented frustration about the tendency of callers to ask him how he's doing before moving on to the meat of their call. Hopefully it's just professional frustration over broadcating in an environment that doesn't nurture creativity.
A dark pall in general seems to have been cast over the show. Ron is grouchy, Fez and Dave are at each other's throats, there's civil war on the boards. Chest pains are keeping Fez up at night. Paul O. is making cryptic allusions to suicide in his forum. There's got to be a morning after.

Agreed, though, that it was a compelling show. The first and last hours were time capsule-worthy.

I was just playing. I'm looking forward to hearing it. I'm a bit behind and won't be hearing that Thursday show until Monday's commute.

Try to pay attention to the sensitive side of Ron in the show. He shows true concern for Dave's kids at the beginning (in between tons of jokes about it) and the end where he gets slightly emotional about dead firefighters in MN. The part where he reminisces with his old friends from his comedy club days reminded me of seeing your dad or uncle meet with some of his old neighborhood buddies and seeing a fun side of him that hasn't existed in 25 years.

I won't consider Ron a hero until Bennington's 11 bring Bin Laden to justice.
