I went away for about 10 days and come back to garden devastated. I find a burrow in the garden. Damn groundhog. Well, two days later and I got the son of a bitch in a trap.

I am traveling to Morristown (30 miles away) and am going to release him there.

What would you have done to the groundhog?

I will post pics of the destroyed garden and the groundhog when I get back.

You did too much work. My Rottweiler killed ours before it destroyed our yard. As soon as it came under the fence she got it and shook the shit out of it until it died. She was the best dog ever.

Like Aggie's dog...our dogs would have gotten before it could do much damage. I hate seeing anything die so I applaud you for releasing it.

Our garden is being destroyed by cold weather....how do you fix that?

You should release it in the projects, that'll teach it.

No, it was the zucchini from the garden that he loved so much. I used it to lure him into the trap.

fill up a garbage can with water
drop cage in water
wait 20 mins
pull cage out
empty garbage can of water
throw groundhog into empty garbage can

Sounds similar to what Michael Vick did.

Wow! For the first time we have 3 groundhogs in our back yard. They haven't gone near the veggie garden. They just eat the grass. I feel for ya.

Spraypaint a white stripe down its back/tail and let it go.

Or.

Read please.

I heard if you like eating squirrel that this little bastard will cook up the same.

Otherwise it is hammer time with a welding glove on the hand holding the fucker down and a 3# ball ping to the head. Throw over someone's fence that you do not like.

I change my mind. A 1.5 pound ball ping because at 3 Pounds you are getting into sledge territory and that is too humane.
