I apologize right away if this has been a thread, but I do not want to sort through old threads.

Anyhow....our 10th wedding anniversary is in a year, but I am starting to plan it now. We want some kind of tropical vacation...lay on the beach all day, dance all night, that kind a thing.

So where do you people recommend and why?

RIU Palace in Aruba.

Just got back from there a week ago for my honeymoon.

Weather was perfect, food (all inclusive) was insanely good, the grounds were immaculate and the people are as friendly as can be.

Maybe not "tropical" as such, but one hell of a great place.

Turks & Caicos, that's all you do there. Lay on a beach, eat food, drink, then party at night

I have been to most of the Caribbean islands. My favorites have been
St Johns. Tiny unspoiled beautiful beaches
St Maarten. Two countries two cultures one island
Cayman Islands. Coral reefs wealthy island

I loved St. Maarten. However, I heard it got hit by a hurricane last year so I don't know how much damage was done.

When you get back, write about your vacation here (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/showthread.php?t=56645&highlight=vacation) so others can benefit from your experience(s).

Aruba , St Lucia are the best for land all inclusive

St Maarten and St Thomas is nice for Villas, Cruises and such, the properties are okay at best

stay away from Jamaica, I am not a fan , also Mexico, Cancun sucks, but Riviera Maya is more adult

cough cruise cough, although I sell land vacations and discount the commission

I second that motion. Went there with the kids during their spring break this year. Stayed at Beaches Resort. Was such a blast. All you can eat and drink all day & night.

St Lucia is NOT a coral island so there is no snorkeling/diving to speak of.

St. Maarten is amazing. Barbados is fantastic, but ridiculously expensive.

Also, Martinique is beautiful and its never brought up in the discussion of the Caribbean.

You can always get a great deal if you go to Mexico. I recommend Puerto Vallarta or the "Mexican Rivieria" (like Cabo San Lucas). They have some great all inclusive deals and most of the nice resorts are 18 and up so no kids!!

yet not one person here has mentioned the Dominican Republic.
so sad.

really, gwen. check out all tha others then check out the DR.
Puerto Plata if you want to just drink and sit on the beach, or Punta Cana if you want to party.

we went back to Puerto Plata this feb.
It cost $1800 all inclusive for 3 of us. Air, hotel, all you can eat/drink, etc.

Half Moon Resort, Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Sure Jamaica is a dangerous place but this resort will make you feel like a plantation owner in the Antebellum south.

I loved Barbados and Antigua.
However, if I were to go anywhere again, I would go back to St. thomas.
I thought St. Maarten was incredibly snobby

Book a cruise to the Caribbean. Weather is always nice, you can lay on a beach once you get to shore. While your going to different islands you can lay on the boat.

St. Thomas is good
PR is ok

Also a lot of the big cruise lines go to their own private island for a day, just your cruise ship is at the beach area at that time. We did one that took us to the Bahamas, called Half Moon Cay..it was fuckin amazing.

Just bring a extra bag and sneak me on board. I need a vacation...I won't eat much...and when your doing some of that fuckin I will masturbate very quietly.

Enjoy.

Anywhere in the British Virgin Islands. One of the best little secrets in the area.

Look into Little Dix Bay, Peter Island or Prickly Pear. Very secluded, very pirate and very luxurious.

No cruise...I need beach all day long and dancing all night in cute sundresses and outdoor bars, swim up bars...whatever...and has anyone ever had sex in sand? Is it weird, itchy, dangerous? Just curious.

Dominican Republic is cheap, but there are much nicer places in the carribean. St Thomas was beautiful...

I'd say Hawaii all the way!!!

St Johns. Tiny unspoiled beautiful beaches
St Maarten. Two countries two cultures one island

Been to these 2 as well, I totally loved my time in both of these places. Totally undisturbed beaches where you're just about the only one out there.

Sex in beach sand sucks if there is any sort of breeze, if either of you had already been in the water, and/or you do not have a large blanket/comforter taken from your suite. Sand will get everywhere and hurt too.

I like the Yucatan peninsula south of Cancun to just north of Tulum. The West coast of Mexico is nice if away from the more touristy areas.
