i used to go a bunch. i've been told my veins are very deep in my arm. they would have to put the needle in multiple times before hitting one. i also couldn't stand being called by the red cross every two weeks to set up an appointment. i'll go when i want to go.

The term “stranding” is used for marine mammals (seals, dolphins, whales) and sea turtles that are found on the beach either dead or alive. Injury or death in seals can be attributed to: shark bites, parasites, respiratory ailments, or human inflicted causes such as net entanglement, vessel strike, toxic pollution and ingestion of plastics.

Some marine mammals strand because of harassment or injuries caused by humans, such as entanglement in fishing gear or marine debris, ingestion of plastics, gunshot wounds, or boat strikes. Some strand due to injuries caused by sharks or other natural predators. Many animals strand because of illness or disease, including viral infections such as morbillivirus; bacterial infections such as leptospirosis; parasites; encephalitis; herpes; and cancer, to name a few.
