Netscape apparently had magical powers.
Radical! The internet underground radio site, dude!
I like that the dude had to get internet lessons under the expressway.
Or is that some kind of visual metaphor for the information superhighway?
MY MIND IS BLOWN.

Everybody be quiet, he's going on line.
The internet was around in 1990?

Only uber-nerds must have known about it back then.

I think this thing is titled incorrectly on the hosting page. It's much more likely this is from 1993 or 1994 or thereabouts.

That is the first fucking thing when I saw him come in...I also love that you needed a comp with 400MB hard drive.

Even more evocative is trying to print out porn on a dot matrix printer.

going with the porn theme...
remember when the best porn was the 1.5mb clips you'd find here and there?
it could have been worse. it could have been trying to print out porn on a "ditto machine"

Before the 90's, the French beat us cold with that Minitel system of theirs.
The little portable computer plugged into the phone jack and was free. All you had to do was go sign one out down at the post office and then pay for your minutes online....

On a related topic, I tried watching Hackers (1995?) on cable last night. It was so damn cheesy that I could not stop laughing. I really like the scene where all of the hackers are in awe that the computer had a 28.? baud modem. It brought back memories of my first modem - I think it was a 300 baud volksmodem.
