Apparently, his workout tape is creating quite a buzz out there (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/07/28/jeff-george-workout-tape-creating-a-buzz/)

In a league where guys like Tarvaris Jackson, Sage Rosenfels, Alex Smith, Daunte Culpepper, Kyle Orton, etc. are gainfully employed, why not? Its not like you can't cut him at any time, and it wouldn't cost you anything but money. And if your team is awful anyways, how much could it hurt?

The tape was created roughly three weeks ago, showing George throwing to incoming freshman at Illinois. We're told that Illinois head coach Ron Zook was blown away by the performance, and he began beating the bushes to get George a second chance.

"I coached against him when I was in the National Football League, and he was out there just throwing the ball around and I was like, 'Holy smokes.' He looked like he did when I coached against him," Zook told IlliniHQ.com. "He was throwing the ball on the money. He can throw all the balls. He looks about 25 years old, and I was very impressed with where he is right now."

And really, is there a whole lot of difference between JG and Brett Favre's rotting corpse that the Vikings were attempting to sign?

If Ron Zook is the only one on your side, that's not good.

you think Zook would start Jeff George over Juice Williams if he could?

Nope.

It would be one thing if he was younger and hadn't burned multiple teams. But he's over 40 years old, and has a history of leaving wreckage in his wake at every team that signs him.

No way.

Hell No - he has always sucked. His 46-78 record as a starter says it all.

if you would consider George, wouldnt you kinda have to give Vick a shot then? Its still a way better option

I had season tickets to the Falcons when George was there.Never since have I seen a guy who could hit a gnats ass at 80 yards and still not be able to win.Oh yeah, and when interviewed after the game it was never his fault. What a douche.

You could always draft the next Jeff George next year in Jevan Snead.

Did he learn how to read defenses in his time out of the league?

When I was waiting tables years ago I got him and his extended family. They ate a lot of free chips and salsa. Not a bad tipper though. I watched him as a Colts fan while I was a kid and I can not think that anyone would exercise that option.
