View Full Version : Saddest movie deaths
Naturally death is sad. But last night, we were talking about which movie death was the saddest. One that comes out of nowhere and takes away a beloved character. For example, Spock in Wrath of Khan. Or maybe Mickey in Rocky III? E.T.? Old Yeller?
What say you?

They're not actual deaths, but the whole Lindsay dying and then Lindsay thinking Bud is dying in The Abyss are two heart-wrenching scenes.
And who forget Goose!? Oh no Goose eject! Oh no Goose you hit the canopy! Oh no Goose you broke Meg Ryan's heart! Oh no Goose!
Ok, that one isn't sad but I like to make fun of it.

Titanic got me when Leonardo DiCaprio died.
He didn't die, but Tom Hanks in Castaway when he drove off after being rescued and finding that his wife was now happily married. She was his beacon of light during his exile and it broke me up to think she held onto hope but had to face facts and move on, and it must have torn them both up. In a way it was like the death of love.

Also as mentioned way early when Goose died in Top Gun and Kaine in Menace II Society and Tyra Banks in Higher Learning followed by Micheal Rappaport killing himself.
And when Duke sacraficed himself and took Serpentors Cobra Staff intended for Falcon
Also not deaths but when Bertere gets paralyzed in Remember the Titans (I usually turn off before the accident) and when the linebackers career gets ruined in the Program

I refuse to watch this episode when its on b/c I'll start crying like a little kid. Dog deaths in tv or movies kill me. Im tearing up right now just thinking about it.

They would've been burnin' through rotors and they wouldn't even know why! The drive shafts were all wrong.... and... ya know... and other jargon.
