I wasn't too interested in Orphan, although I was curious what the twist was- if Esther was superhuman or what? It looks kindof like a Bad Seed/Good Son rip off. However, I heard a spoiler rumor that I'm now reading is true, and it makes me just giddy, I have no idea why. Unfortunately this is just the big reveal, but lord if the whole movie was 90 minutes of this I would've taken off work to see it.


Esther is a 33 year old midget who dresses like a child to have sex with rich pedophiles.

That movie should get an oscar.

The movie was pretty good, and I SORT OF guessed the twist but didn't really guess exactly how TWISTED it would be.

It was overlong and it never fully capitalized on any of the psychological thriller/slasher flick/black comedy camp-fest aspects it tried to incorporate, but it was still very watchable and entertaining. Vera Farmiga and the demon seed are really good. I'd still recommend people with similar horror sensibilities to my own to see it even though I woudn't necessarily give it a positive thumbs-up review. It doesn't look like it opened that big and steady legs thereafter might be out of the question but on home video I think it could really take off.
