Do you put political shit on Facebook?

A lot of my friends on facebook put polical shit on their facebook. Most of it irritates me because I don't agree with it. If you disagree with it, is facebook a place to debate it with everybody seeing what goes on?

I do not see debating anything on Facebook as being very productive. That is where people post their opinion and they are not really looking for a debate. Your fiends might be different than mine though.

I made the mistake of getting into an argument with a guy (old bf) on facebook about the presidential race...we are no longer friends....suits me just fine though...he was a real ass.

Facebook is a horrible place to put political and religious debate. It's format doesn't promote open and threaded discussion like a bulletin board does. At best it's drive by political trolling. And frankly, *most* of the people that I'm facebook friends with probably aren't capable or willing to think critically about either topic.

No but when my friends do I usually throw up a comment that will send them into a tirade even if I dont believe it. Just because I like watching the monkeys dance for me.

I'm probably the most apolitical of all of my friends. I try to keep my affiliations close to the vest. I think that's the tasteful way to go about such things.

I keep most of it to myself because I never know who is going to see what. Especially since I would say < 5% of my "friends" are actually friends. Maybe < 2%. Bunch of relatives and old high school assholes.
