Ok, techno-peeps. I just got a Panasonic LCD TV which comes with a port for using the screen as a monitor for a PC. I am a Mac person.

Here are my questions: Is there a difference between a Mac and a PC when it comes to plugging into monitors? Same same, right?

Are there any extended length cables for plugging in and sitting a good 5 feet away from the monitor?

Or, even better, can anybody come up with a wireless solution where I can work on my MacBook pro on the TV? I know they have wireless keyboards but I'd like to use the monitor for retouching and I'd need my wacom tablet, so I'm not sure a wireless keyboard would work.

I thank you in advance for your time and courtesy. I'll hang up and listen for my answer.

I am fairly sure the cable ends should be the same.

As for the cable length, I'm sure Newegg or someone else sells extensions.

The other questions I can't help you with.

You'll probably need an adapter for the final connection to the Macbook Pro -- a mini-DisplayPort for newer models, something like a mini-DVI for older models. You'd probably want one that goes from that to HDMI.

I'm not aware of any wireless monitor situation. At least one that won't cost out the ass.

The main complaint about solutions like that are they are not HDCP and there is picture/screen lag. But many HD Tvs still use the cluncky non HD 15 pin sub D, I hate it.

Careful going with any cable over 10' due to signal degradation. you will also need an adaptor to plug into the Mac.
