The lake I live on is known as one of the best muskie fishing lakes in north america.

I originally brought it up b/c I had been interested in the Joan Jett show (which is Wed, the 5th, with the B-52's), but I realize weeknights might be tough for a lot of people. I may decide to still make the trip for that.

If you guys plan a get-together on the 1st, though, I'd love to be a part of it. Can't wait to find out what a "platz" is...

I have never been so I am not quite sure... but I think you can have beer at the Brew Works any other day but only sit and enjoy some music food and drinks and people watching during the Musikfest.

Haha no that's not what I meant, there is a huge variety of food there. Greek, Jamaican, German, Italian, a lot of restaurants in the area set up booths there.

Wow, a year's gone by already, but Musikfest is back!!

Anyone going this year?
I'll be up there all day on Thursday, the 12th.

For all the Trombone Shorty fans I created last year, he's back again this year, on Wednesday and Thursday, the 11th and 12th. (By the way, he put out a great new album this year, called "Backatown.")

Also, if you can get over there, I HIGHLY recommend a band out of Texas called Mingo Fishtrap. I discovered them at last year's Musikfest. They're a really tight funk and soul band, and they'll be playing on the 10th and 11th. (I'll be checking them out tomorrow night at the Canal Room in Manhattan...)
