i love a good NY-style cheesecake
it is so rich and delicious
if i eat alot, i go into a near coma
first a question:
do you outlanders in places
like Minnesota and Nebraska
have NY-style cheesecake?
where do you find it? do you
even know what it is?
do you people like your's with
or without fruit?
i like mine plain
if i get served a piece
with strawberry topping
i scrape that off and eat it first
then i flip the piece over and
eat the crust off
that leaves just the prize
the dense delicious creamy
cream-cheesy treasure in the middle
really, all cheesecake should be
PLAIN

I don't think there's a region that doesn't have NY style cheese cake. But on equal footing is a tart/sweet piece of key lime pie. I agree cheese cake should be plain.

I agree cheese cake should be plain (gross).
It is. Key lime pie on the other hand...
Cheesecake isn't really "cake" by definition, is it?
Therefore, it's a fraud and it sucks.
I've got a real hankering for key lime pie right about now though.

I love cheesecake and key lime pie....why do they have to have so many calories?
the best cheesecake I ever had was in NYC...but I can make a pretty good one myself
for special occasions and such

Good key lime pie should be so rich you should be able to taste the butter in it. If made right it is glorious.

with the possible exception of lemon meringue, key lime has to be the worst dessert ever.

The difference between New York cheese cake and regular cheese cake?
Three bucks a slice.
Dude!
07-19-2009, 05:37 AM
key lime pie shouldn't even
share the same thread
with cheesecake
like the guy said
it is just condensed milk
which is basically rancid milk
the lime juice curdles the rancid milk
and that's how it solidifies
it is just disgusting
cheesecake was invented by god
with some help from the jews

I agree that really good cheescake should be served plain but I still love all those flavors at Cheescake Factory and Copelands. Everyone all over the country says they have NY style cheesecake but most don't.
As for key lime pie, my only experience is when I was dying and Dexter kept bringing me pieces of what he thought was the worlds best key lime pie. He sucked at that.
My friend once made a pumpkin cheesecake at Thanksgiving a couple of years ago that was awesome. And I hate pumpkin pie.

The best NY style cheesecake, therefore the best cheesecake, in the world in from S&S bakery on W. 238 St. in Da Bronx. (I think Sailor might back me up on this one since that was/is(?) his neck of the woods.)
Those Confederate desserts - key lime pie, pecan pie, et al. - are a li'l too sweet for this palate but hey, if your pancreas is working and you enjoy them, God bless.

My wife makes one of the world's best cheesecakes. Every now and again she will use chocolate graham for the crust and I get pissed.

Finally someone with a little sense. The same savages who eat that slop probably have no appreciation of a nice potato or macaroni salad as a side for barbeque.
