I heard a Wallflowers song yesterday (I don't know how it happened exactly) and it got me thinking.

Who is the best artist who had a musician parent? Both parent and child need to have some popular success, I don't give a shit if Elvis Costello's dad was in the band.

Jeff Buckley, Norah Jones, Jakob Dylan, Wilson Phillips to name a few.

Who's the best?

Rufus wainwright, nas.

I'd pick Jeff Buckley, natch, though the Wainwrights are bringing it, too.

Lennon's kids have actually put out some decent music over the years. Nothing groundbreaking, but enjoyable.

Liam Finn should be a serious dark horse candidate in this discussion. Only one album thus far, but it's really good, especially for fans of his dad Neil's work solo and with Split Enz/Crowded House (plus uncle Tim Finn).

Good call on Liam Finn. I loved his album.

Another one who's off to a good start is Justin Townes Earl.

Anyone who even thinks of Jakob Dylan should be shot in the face. What an untalented fuck.

Liv Tyler? She's not a musician, but somewhat popular.

And the most underrated father daughter team: Hulk and Brooke Hogan.
