360 media extender

For those of you who use the ms media extender with their 360s, how slow does it go?

I just hooked mine up and to view folders its taking minutes to load. I assume its because of the wireless modem up stairs 2 floors above the basement streaming to the pc that's in the basement then to my 360.

I still get a decent connection in the basement. But this thing is going slow as hell!

Microsoft admits that running 802.11g routers will give you a slower experience with the media extender. They recommend using a 802.11a+g. It's 5.15ghz so it's faster than the more common 2.4ghz. Mine was slow until I upgraded. It made a huge difference.

Alright well. Now that its sorta working, I can't view .avi. Files with the 360! Wtf?

mine runs flawlessly but then again i have mine hardwired
