We used to kick the green machines butts with our big wheels. Big wheels dig better bootleggers skids as well

"If your friends jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge, would you do it too."
Thanks mom for those inspiring words

BIG WHEELS RULES!

Do you remember the feature where you locked one side and the thing spun around?

Dude! Those big wheels were the coolest! We used to race around the block on them and set up obstacle courses. We rode those suckers until the wheels split in the middle. Horde, the brakes were sweet. I had the coolest big wheel, Cartman style!

None of you punks could go faster than me on my Green Machine. It was all about torque baby!

For guys 8, 9, 10 years old that really know how to ride.

The Green Machine was pretty cool. Two kids down the street had one. The best part was the way it could spin out. Most kids has a Big Wheel, which was much slower and less fun. I had a Cheetah, which was a very fast but short-lived toy. You can check out the Cheetah at "http://cheetahridingtoy.blogspot.com". It's great the Green Machine is still around.

The Green Machine and those things like it ruled !!

I had a Spider Man version of the GM and a friend of mine had something called the Blue Max.

I remember the Big Wheel being best for using it like a scooter. Putting one foot on it and then using the other foot to get it going to decent speed.

After my sister broke my Spider Man thing I got the Spinout 360 which totally blew.

Don't forget the Batman version of the Green Machine. My brother had one and I was jealous. I was 5 years older and way beyond the big wheel age.

Stupid Green Machine - I could never get any traction with the front wheel. But my bicepts are huge today form the handle workouts.

I had the classic big wheel and it ruled.

My friend's little brother had the sweet Knight Rider big wheel.

Unfortunately when I was 5, I lived in Clinton, New Jersey for one year. There were these great hills in our neighborhood we climbed with our Big Wheels. You could get going fast down the hills and once you pulled the break over the right wheel, it would either cause the coolest spinout ever or result in a horrible crash.
Big Wheels ruled. Green Machine had those stupid levers.

Do you guys remember that damn crack by your nuts that would develop in every well used BigWheel? I remember mine being cobbled together with a bent shelf brace after it snapped in two.

Fug, I fogot about that. Nice!

Oh and the eventual flat spot that would form on the front wheel from stopping without using the hand break.

I neglected to include the ice-cream connection of a big wheel in my post out of fear of being the only one who did that, but YES I know what you mean.

wow! what brought this back?
Did anybody joust with their green machine/big wheel?
it was basically playing chicken, except both guys would hop off before the end and watch them smash together. we did this when we were just a bit too big for them. the best is when i would push off with my leg and use it more like a scooter rather than ride like a cycle.
