I think he intends honesty but misuses the phrase. Isn't he really trying to say "this is a straight shoot" rather than "total shoot"?

What's the point of saying it otherwise?
I've never heard or noticed Ron's saying 'total shoot'....

the point would be to create excitement, tension, interest in what was happening on air. i'm not convinced that he fibs about 'total shoots' from time to time, but i suspect he does, for the sake of heightening the drama of whatever is going on at the time. but i could be wrong! :help:

This thread is a total shoot
i think its an old professional wrestling term for "no bull shit"
kinda yeah. a shoot is basically breaking kayfabe (keeping the intended reality of wrestling going) and telling how you really feel about something.

I think everytime I've noticed him saying it I felt what he said afterwards was pretty much 100% truthful. I don't think he's above throwing it out there to get your attention but I feel most of the time he uses it, he's being honest afterwards.

I have never heard the Phrase total shoot before Mr. B started saying in on one of his many radio shows. Must be a Philly thing.

It depends...
Bob Dylan taught me that to live outside the law you must be honest.
Therefore, my answer is "yes."

When he says "total shoot" it is akin to a director yelling "action." "Total shoot", and then an elaborate well thought out bit begins.

I think most times it's more him pulling back the curtains a little. Not all, but a little.

shoot in proffesional wrestling is something that is real. Alot of times in the 90s of wcw when the nwo were around they'd go to the ring and cut a shoot promo, where they'd shit on people FOR REAL. especially ric flair and scott steiner they hated each other.
in japan wrestling is potrayed as a real sport. their isn't as much of the goofy shit mcmahon does,so before matches they cut shoot promos on each other, not talking up their character or any weirdness mcmahon has introduced to be the pro wrestling norm.
Work is one of the most commonly used terms in wrestling. It means many things:
a wrestling match is called a "work," and the wrestlers involved are said to work the match. This means that the fight was choreographed and the outcome was predetermined.
that's why when fez and dave are at each other's throats and ron asks if this is a work its probably cuz he isn't sure if fez and dave are really at each others throats.
sry for the long post.
