I know a lot more people on twitter now than message boards. Are message boards becoming the new "chat rooms"?
I have not checked out twitter yet, but everytime I talk to someone over the phone who has a twitter account and I hear that annoying alert noise, it pisses me off.

Did Myspace kill message boards? No.

How about Facebook? No.

Same with Twitter, and whatever comes out 2 months from now to replace it.

Message boards have been around since the old bbs days, I don't think they will be going away soon. Twitter is just the latest "thing"

I don't think so. I don't do the twitter, but have checked out opies once from a pc and a few times from my blackberry. Its just plain fucking annoying reading peoples status updates.

Yes, it has this annoying update noise. I doubt I will ever get into that kind of thing, and this is more enjoyable to me.

Twitter doesn't allow enough room for me to enter my incredibly important opinions.

The Tweetdeck program has an alert tone which I immediately disabled.

No, messageboards tend to be an aggregated knowledge and discussion based on a specific topic. Twitter is much more general and topics change very quickly.

I never understood how, when R&F like to talk about a computer related fad or a sport that a listener doesn't use or like, the listener somehow thinks it's ruining the show.

No, twitter and all other things that exist like facebook are the waves of the future generations, whereas we're more dinosaurs that are still thinking the planet is gonna get warm again before the last of us freezes to death. So messageboards will be with us so long as mikeyboy isn't dead from being over 90 years of age. Which is a long time from now, though it won't seem like that when we get to that sad year in the future. Sorry Mikey, we're all mortal after all. :(

And this is the last fucking post of the day, dong.
