I miss that insane maniac.

He's obviously poor and jobless since he twitters and texts Ron constantly...just bring him back already.

His literal interpretation of the bible would work so well with Fez's....um....uh....changes.

Earls knowledge on music has been sorely missed. They should have him back on the air Monday if not sooner.

The case for Earl is weird, obviously, it's real life and a corporate structure so who knows, but in terms of just the show, I haven't heard Ron being legitimately seriously pissed as much since Earl left, but, I do think he got shit done behind the scenes that were really good for the show that his lack of talents haven't brought to the show since his absesnce. But the real deal breaker here is, who in their right mind doesn't miss Earl fucking up, lying, getting shit on, and breaking down on the air? I'm in the camp that he secretly got shit behind the scenes done really well with the combo of by no attempt of his own got radio gold out of himself on air all thanks to Ron and Fez and also Dave as well as his own idiocy.
If I could have Earl back tomorrow I'd sign on the dotted line. But it's a corporate structure, so don't hold your breath.

I dont miss earl at all...I HATED when he was on air. The only remotely funny thing he ever did was the baby dinosaur bit and a close second is when he took 45min to hang a picture back in 1999.

To me, that guy is crazed. Call in every once in a while and I'll kindly take my ear bud out and come back in 15 minutes. A regular role on the show would be a giant step backwards.

Its obvious someone in charge doesn't believe the ron and fez show deserves anymore paid "talent" if they did don't you think mooch would be on air.

Not necessarily.

It depends on who does the hiring at SiriusXM, and how much input Ron & Fez have on who gets hired for their staff with the new company.

From the way it's described, it sounds like the Sirius overlords (really the only way to describe the situation in that company in relation to the on-air product across the entire satellite platform) have 100% control over everything with little to no input from anyone.

That said, I think it's been stated that Sirius hates Earl, so they probably wouldn't rehire him anyway.

But I miss his lunatic points of view and inability to string together coherent sentences. Ron yelling at him was the best.

I think there's massive cost-cutting going on over the whole platform.

Earl has great music knowledge, but he seems to sit there thinking "what Ron just said reminds me of a song I know", where Chris Stanley has been spinning some tunes that fit the topic, I want Mooch first, if not that then maybe bring Earl back for the behind the scenes EP stuff but leave CS on the board.

You may be right, but if thats true how do O&A keep all there extra staff?

They might not be able to in the long run. We'll have to see. I wouldn't be surprised to see some cuts to O&A's staff. Earl made the cut for them on R&F, and Sirius XM may be hesitant to add someone to the staff if they are just going to cut them anyway. Pure speculation on my part. I know nothing, but Sirius XM has been attempting to cut costs across the board.

I still follow the stock a bit.

They dodged bankruptcy only by the good graces of Liberty Media earlier this year. So they've been trying to cut costs EVERYWHERE to make the company somewhat more attractive to investors to raise capital so they can pay off chunks of their debt which are due soon.

They've cut a lot of staff on a lot channels the last few years. I could see them eliminating music channel DJs entirely and just going with set rotating playlists for the music channels that are periodically updated and altered, and maybe making some more staff cuts across the platform.

But they've pretty much done as much as they can do in that regard. Most of their debt comes from the big talent and maintaining satellites. Neither of which there's easy cost cutting solutions to.

i'm surprised they haven't started using the same staff for both shows, that building's going to be a national radio farm soon.

Maybe they could bring Earl back as a character.
Make him wear all white and call him the "Freedom Rider."

I really do miss him. He has a great voice. He could just read out of a magazine and be entertaining. Kind of like that one time in FL when Fez spent over an hour reading out of that wrestling magazine.

someone working on his BIO book. This is the middle of his hottest radio career phase. Years from now this will be his HOT STREAK ERA. Earl had his "run" on the show. So did Billy Staples, who graduated and moved on to visual media.Let's say that Dave is an Eric Idle with 30 years in the biz. My time line is skewed toward the future so the past is just for references you GET. It's hard to see your own progress when you are busy fighting fires daily. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/j3lehane/BlackearlCrop.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/j3lehane/BigEastSidedaveCollage111kb.jpg Ch -Ch-Ch-Changes ....
