Going back to the old school 10 films will be up for Best Picture starting next year. Holy Shit, 10 good movies dont come out a year. I also think the more you split your votes the more likely we are to have some wacky, awful best pictures. Like worse than American Beauty.

It could have easily worked two years ago, would have been tough last year. I don't like it.

Like worse than American Beauty.
Maybe, but worse than Crash? Impossible!

Really it shouldn't be standard year to year. They should just decide "These are the movies that are good enough to be considered" and let that just be the number of movies they nominate that year.
Sometimes I'm amazed when I look back at which films were nominated for Best Picture. I'm even more stunned at some of the winners. There's some pure shit in the pile.

The five that are selected are already from a pool of thousands. I don't think that opening it up to 10 is going to do anyone any favors.
"Oh, your movie was nominated for Best Picture? So was Tropic Thunder. Congratulations."

its going to be so strange that "The Hangover" is probably going to be a Best Picture nominee

This seems stupid to me, considering most movies suck balls now.
This is almost like expanding the MLB draft by twice as many rounds, even though the talent is already watered down

I heard it was the director. Vince was actually amazing, but the director hated him, so he just said it was shit.
HA. Do they really expect us to believe that shit? Adrian Grienier was not even believable in his own fuckin documentary, nevermind when he is acting.

to make us think those scenes of him hanging from a tree, shouting into a radio, got
him the lead in Scorcese's Great Expectations is just insulting.

This is just so more movie companies can put "Oscar Nominated Film" stickers on their DVD cases.
Also I'm sure they will start putting shit that shouldn't be considered, like Batman.
