WAAAAAAAAAAAAAH I WHORED EVERY CREDIT CARD POSSIBLE AND RACKED UP $60k IN DEBT AND DON"T HAVE ANYTHING TO SHOW FOR IT AND I BLAME IT ON THE ECONOMY (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31325093/ns/business-personal_finance//)

Why the FUCK does this stupid fuck get a story on MSNBC about her awful decisions? Knowing this assfuckbackwards country she'll have a bunch of retards donate money to her.

Dude!

Yep. Her fault.

I have one credit card. I wouldn't dare get another one because it would just add to the debt I have, which is manageable.

i read it and yes she made bad decisions, and this broad gets little sympathy from me. it also seems that she's finally doing the right thing out of the desperation of her situation. its shouldnt have taken bankruptcy, etc. to finally start living within her means.

now, what i want to know is: how much would that balance be if the interests rates werent so damned high? those rates seemed more like loan shark rates than anything...

there is def blame on the lady's side, but holy hell, having her cash advance jump to 30.99% if she lowers the interest on her cc debt is more than a bit much.

I hope she lives long enough to pay down her debt and then gets the credit card rug pulled out from under her feet. I feel no sympathy for her, she can go fuck herself with her garage sale money.

Seems she has been working her way into this debt way before the economy dropped... and I still wonder how credit card companies continue to offer.

In 2003 she received a $20,000 inheritance and used $15,000 of it to pay off credit card debt. But soon the balances started to creep up again.
why not use all of it?

About the interest rates. They named off 3 cards with high interest rates. I'm willing to bet without any doubt all 3 of those cards were those "1 year no interest, no payment" deals, which we all know that as plain as day say in the user agreement "Failure to pay off in one year will result in 25% interest back to the original date of purchase"

I would sympathize with her if all this was for sending her kids to school or medical expenses. It's all retarded shit though.

indeed. she's one of those whip out the plastic types. if i don't have the cash, i don't buy it. it's that easy.
and on a related note, Alex got her first credit card offer yesterday. i threw that shit in the trash.

they would send them to the dog just to rile up more interest... it makes me mad...
I dont understand how she was not able to get these accounts closed and paid off.. I have a two cc accounts that went bad during divorce and instead of dealing with continued interest I asked them to close the account and work out a payment plan. It really did hit my credit score hard, but I rather did that than paying max interest rates not being able to ever get it all paid off. One of the two I was able to settle for 50% of the remaining balance this spring... there are always ways to deal with it... she is not trying hard enough

I talked to my friend Jeff Paul and he taught me about shortcuts to internet millions.

I don't know anything about the internet or computers, they do all the work and I now make $7,500 a week!

She is a complete fucking moron, but these credit card companies are predators and their fucking interest rates are a disgrace. Guys serve time for loaning out money with half of that interest.

When I got married I pretty much inherited my wifes credit card debt and slowly but sure have been getting rid of it all. I do the old fashioned balance transfer with 0% interest for the first year and pay off what I can before transferring it again the next year. In 4 years between us I got $12 K down to $7 K.

Its a pain in the ass but my credit is stellar and it keeps the interest off while I cut the debt down.

I guess I should have found myself a husband with stellar credit to do the same... instead I had the men I was with ruin mine by inheriting their debt and being left with obligations that were theirs...
But at least I am paying my bills and my credit has improved but still needs a few more years to be back where it started before I got married.

my parents managed to rack up a lot of credit card debt which always surprised me, because the debt was always within their reach but they seem to be unable to pay it back completely. One of their biggest issues is their unwillingness to spend cash they have on their debt. I am in the Dave Ramsey camp when it comes to paying off debt - keep a rainy day fund and spend every other available penny on your debt. There is no excuse -- cc debt has higher interest rates than savings do. It's simple math

As someone who is still feeling the effects of a 10K credit hole he was in, I have a negative amount of pity for this woman, not even none, a negative amount. That way just in case I have pity for her in the future it will even it out to nothing.

Fuck this fucking cunt. Ya know what normal people do when Christmas comes around and they can't afford big gifts? They get people small gifts. Ya know what happens when normal people's friend's birthdays roll around and they can't afford to get them a big gift? They give what they can and enjoy some time with them. Ya know what happens when summer rolls around for normal people who can't afford a vacation? They don't go on one. I haven't been on a vacation in well over a fucking decade. I guess if I was following this dumb bitch's life lessons I should just charge it now and cry about it later to MSNBC. This dumb twat was sinking even during the good times, she's just using the bad economic times to get some sympathy.

I'm pissed anyone even gave this bitch the time of day.

Preach it brother!

Beer makes the perfect holiday/b-day gift. You can share it with your friend or brother while having good conversations. It's the best ever for $32 and a crazy drive home.

Who cares about this useless individual with no self control. All this article achieves is making me feel superior to an obviously trouble person.

I read this story earlier, and while it's obvious that she showed lack of stellar judgement to say the least, this 60k didn't rack up overnight.

The use of credit cards has been this generation's crutch to overcome the lack of wage advancement in the last 15 yrs. Wages have not kept up with inflation and we as a nation spend about 70% of our income on non negotiable expenses.

If all we do is work to survive, it's very easy to rely on cards to float through bad times, or enjoy yourself. Add relentless interest rates, fees and penalties to the equation and the hole gets big quick.

I guess it is harder to understand and accept for me because I grew up without credit cards and still only pay on a cash basis with debit card or bank linked credit cards that get replenished at the end of each month.
