A bird just flew into the window at work. At first it was just lying on the ground panting.
Now it's standing up like a zombie with it's beak wide open just panting. I can get within inches of it and it doesn't flinch
Should I kill it or let it die on its on.

Kill it, his quality of life is destroyed. But please give him a proper burial.

I can't kill zombie bird. He seems oblivious to sound or sight. I will let it die naturally. Which will probably be sometime tonight when a fox sinks its teeth into his flesh

Oh when I came home from work on Saturday there was a little dead bird on my back steps. It obviously hit hard enough to break its neck. Your zombie bird should be OK since it is still mobile. Laying on the deck with its eyes open=bad, looking in the window panting/alive=good!

So the bird regain some sense and trotted away into the forest when I approached it. He tried opening his wings but never attempted to fly.
so long zombie bird! You will be missed!

I'm sure David Chase will bring him back and explain his disappearance...

When they pant they are over heated and thirsty. It likely flew into your window because it was looking for water.

I put that little plastic container out there filled with water for him but he never drank it. Also 6ft down and to the left is a big rain water pond.
I think he just got his bell rung. When he first got back to his feet he fell twice like he was drunk. Then stayed up and sorta staggered. When he left he skipped away like a regular bird does, beak closed, and looking back and forth more. Just wasn't flying yet.
What an exciting life I live. I essentially blogged about a fucking bird today.

He'll be ok unless a cat gets him first.
