I know a lot of us ar waiting for Where The Wild things Are.
Here's a first look at Tim Burton's Akice In Wonderland which also promises to be wild.

First Look: Tim Burton's 'Wonderland'
Burton gave us a grief-wracked demon barber in 2007’s Sweeney Todd and oodles of Oompa Loompas in 2005’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Now one of Hollywood’s most visually creative directors layers his own surreal sensibilities upon the fanciful world of Lewis Carroll in Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, due in theaters on March 5, 2010. This first look at some of the concept art for the film suggests there is the usual Burton dark magic afoot.

The white rabbit Alice The Tweedles He has finally found his Alice

The critter (voiced by Welsh actor Michael Sheen of Frost/Nixon) checks his timepiece while Alice (Australian actress Mia Wasikowska) takes in the view, one that she has seen before. “The rabbit is convinced he has the right Alice,” says producer Richard Zanuck. “He has been looking for her for years.” And – shades of Burton's Edward Scissorhands – topiaries in the shape of a giraffe, a dodo and other creatures fill the garden. Strong, whether tall or small

Just as the trees talked in Oz, the roses that blossom in Wonderland can hold a conversation. Alice greets them along the entrance to what appears to be a forest of giant mushrooms. But as in the book, her size shrinks and grows throughout her journey. Burton has said of choosing Wasikowska, 19, to play Alice, “We met a lot of people, but she just had that certain kind of emotional toughness, standing her ground in a way that makes her kind of an older person with a younger person’s mentality.” Move your mouse around the image and/or use the zoom tool to explore.

Welcome to our Wonderland

Egg-shaped Tweedledee and Tweedledum, who are created through motion-capture technology, are among the first characters to greet Alice. They take her to meet the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp). The twins are played by popular British comic Matt Lucas, best known for the TV series Little Britain. Move your mouse around the image and/or use the zoom tool to explore.

It'll undoubtedly look great.

I doubt it will rival the storytelling of Pan's Labyrinth, though.

In the interest of full disclosure - I hate Tim Burton with the burning passion of a million suns. But I saw this, so I thought I'd throw it in here.

Tim Burton, directing a strange movie based on a story that's already been told countless times starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter?

Way to break the mold.

What a dick.

Burton's good by my book for Beetlejuice, Batman#1, and Big Fish. At least this movie is about a story that's SUPPOSED to have been directed by Tim Burton.

They should sell mushrooms with hallucinogenic properties at theatres when this opens instead of popcorn.

So anyone check this out yet? I saw it yesterday in 3D. Very cool visually. Story was eh ok, but Depp saved many parts. Depp did some cool things with the character. Overall I liked it.

Ebert on Twitter: (http://twitter.com/ebertchicago)

My take on "Alice in Wonderland." Nice until Burton goes on autopilot with the third act.

His review for the Chicago Sun-Times here. (3/4 stars) (http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100303/REVIEWS/100309990)

Does the Dormouse say to "feed your head" in this one? Because he certainly didn't in the original. That Jefferson Starship cunt lied to us all.

A lot of nifty crap is lodged into each frame. The problem is, the (reconfigured) story is told with no urgency or passion, and the characters and environmental elements register only through familiarity with the source material instead of being suitably brought to life and existing on their own within the film's reality.

It's kind of sad to see Burton & Depp going through the paces on a strictly paycheck enterprise at this point in the life of their continued collaboration. You'd think or hope that maybe they would only opt to team up if it was a really special project that could stand proudly alongside the likes of Scissorhands and Ed Wood. Burton burying his muse underneath multiple layers of makeup and prosthetics in the service of a remake, reimagining, or re-adaptation was old hat even before Disney enticed them with cash-filled dumptrucks to undertake Alice.

For a guy with such a fertile imagination, Burton has engaged in far too many instances of being a hired gun tasked to reheat the leftovers of overfamiliar properties. Vision only goes so far if it's not being complemented by fresh content. Since his name is a brand onto itself, it stands to reason that he wouldn't encounter much studio hesitancy trying to get an original concept off the ground, which makes the latter part of his career all the more disheartening.

I saw this tonight in 3D. Looked great, but I think I hate 3D. It gave me a headache and my eyes kept trying to focus. It was also too dark in places. The story was what it was, but I thought Depp was great.

the fiifth biggest movie of all time and the biggest without a PG-13 rating. Gives Johnny Depp three in the top ten of all time

Can't say I remember reading either of the original books.
It seems reasonably but not entirely faithful to those books.
