I'm for once stumped and I'm sure it's something retarded

I have a USB hard drive, I have a Mac OSX iso. I want to boot off the USB hard drive as if I had burned the ISO to a DVD rom. Problem is, Copy all contents of ISO over to drive, I set my USB hard drive to be the first bootable device and I alway get Boot MGR can't be found shit.

I've googled, done rectum checks, pissed in a cup. I can't figure out a solution to this.

I just wanna try OSX and Ubuntu out on my Netbook (obviously no DVD drive).

The MBR on Disk 0 (main hard disk) needs to be updated or you need a separate boot manager.

Google search Airboot and update the MBR.

There is a graphical one but I can not recall it's name, fuck I can even picture e box. And I am not good enough to write to the MBR myself but know people do it.

Oh, and you said you set the USB to boot first, you'd need an MBR on which ever disk boots first. It can be done.

Also, Ubuntu has forums (http://ubuntuforums.org/search.php?searchid=60857669) that may help, but it looks like this may be a problem.

huh?
you can't just boot a netbook from an apple iso image, unless this is an apple netbook that you have on loan from steve jobs.

just doesn't work that way kiddo.

how bout giving us more info so we can make sense of what you're doing.

and for ubuntu if you have a live cd you can just boot from the live cd, or you can make a bootable usb disc from within a ubuntu installation

and looking at the time of your post i'm just going to tell you to look up osx86, apple goes to great lengths to make their computers the only ones capable of booting osx, it takes a bit of work to get osx working on a non apple computer, i speak from experience.

It doesn't take that much work. I've had it installed on two computers already.

I just want to install it on my netbook which doesn't have a DVD drive. I may just purchase a external dvd drive to make this easier.

Sorry budday but OSX has been cracked for some time and the hackers keep up with OSX updates. It is rather easy to find and if you follow directions it will run with few if any problems.

I'd like to see either of you install osx from a standard osx disc image, you need either kalyway idneb etc.

And I'm seriously not your buddy and I asked for more details to help.

And I'm one of those "hackers" who has successfully installed leopard and before that tiger on several dell laptops and a hp desktop.

Thanks.

You don't need Kalyway, idneb. They are the prefered way and the way I do it. You can use a standard osx install dvd still. There are instructions out there how to do it.

You're welcomed, but not entirely correct.
