I am curious about this. I don't want to spend a bunch of money on a Kindle if I don't have to.

I was looking into getting a friend one, until I saw the prices.

Only one I've really seen is the one Amazon offers and a few others. I saw an interesting article in PC Magazine about how to turn a netbook into an E-reader.

But none of that really helps you out in the least.

There are 2 brands available one is the Amazon Kindle and the other is made by Sony.

Feature wise the Amazon wins hands down, especially with it's built in wireless modem. PC Mag has given the Amazon one good ratings and the only thing that has held it back from excellent is the price. I do not have one but it does interest me.
