Well now he's decided just to destroy the whole planet.

...and look who they've chosen as the president.
That's been done!

Are the Mayans really "Mankind's Earliest Civilization"?
Looks loud. Might be a good idea to bring earplugs if you're going to see it in a theater.

Goddammit.
So disapointed with that cast...good actors wallowing in utter shit.
"Ooooooh, it's 2012! Look out!"
Not only is it another bullshit 2012 load of crap, but it's the laziest one so far. Aapparently ol' Rolan just thinks everything is going to implode. Why? Who the fuck knows? Who cares? BOOGEDY-BOO!

utter shit
That remains to be seen.
If you decide this far in advance that you're going to turn your nose up at something you could deprive yourself of an enjoyable viewing experience.
I'm not expecting high art or anything. But I'm holding out hope it could be a fun complement to the munching of buttered popcorn in a darkened room.

Yeah, what was I thinking? It's not like Roland Emmerich has a terrible track record of awful summer "blockbuster" disaster films or anything.

I'm just so annoyed with all the 2012 bullshit floating around that I can't bring myself not not hate this movie.

It's just like the Y2K disaster hysteria. It will seem quaint in 2013 when everything is still here. Until the next doomsday date...

Complete shit.
Those FX are a maaaasive leap backwards. Somehow, CGI is getting worse rather than better.
Anybody who thinks that any of those scenes looks even remotely photorealistic needs to raise their standards AND have their fuckin' head examined.
30 years after LAND OF THE LOST and this is where we are with special effects?!?!
Complete shit.

I have a friend that heartily believes all this shit.
This movie looks awful.
I hope in his next movie natural disasters, global warming, a giant lizard and an alien invasion all happen at the same time.

Big, bad new movie about the end of the world as we know it.
Crap.

I can't think of any end of the world movies that I disliked. I guess I just like seeing the status quo chaotically disrupted.
I'll be there on opening day for this one with a popcorn-filled wheelbarrow. Roland Emmerich somehow instills a certain charm or watchability in his films even when he's failing miserably, which is usually often.

I saw the teaser first and thought yeah ok this might be entertaining. Then I saw the full trailer, and in that JOHN CUSACK.
Is this a dramady?
No?
I'll pass.

If you missed last night's 2 minute trailer... here is a 5 minute clip of LA getting ridiculously destroyed.

It looks fantastically bad.

Big, loud, dripping with cheese and gloriously apocalyptic.
Excellent on the big screen.

Did anyone have to outrace the cold in this one?
I hate you for seeing this.

Cold? No, only a volcanic ash cloud which travels a few hundred miles per hour. RVs and Cesnas can outrun that!
