We get little flickers of outage from time to time. I have my comp on a battery backup, so I'm not afraid of losing work. I just don't want it to get fried. Every time I read a report that says it's OK to leave it on, I read another to the contrary.

A few weeks ago, lightning fried the battery backup at work, but the comp survived. But now the idiots haven't replaced the backup. I keep telling them, the fact that it fried is proof that it did it's job, and they shouldn't risk a 10 thousand dollar computer.
