AT&T's Uverse

Does anyone on the board currently use this service? We just got it offered in our area and with the GF getting a nice discount we signed up, I am wondering if their Uverse service worse than their DSL which sucks.

Just asking for any opinions on their fiber service.

It is a direct connect to fiber which is what brings the tv, internet, and phone signals into the home. It is very fast and I recommend but check DSL Reports.com for more info on your area.

Yeah we got a little card saying its available but lo and behold 3 techs came out today wasting all afternoon then telling us that we are too far from the D-SLAM and they cant hook us up.

My GF was pissed, shes an ATT project manager and shot off an email to their VP, who she talks too monthly, Im sure it will create a bit of a shit storm.

Its no wonder that their home side is dying, they are horrible and their dsl goes down 3 times a day, wireless is the only thing making them money and the whole iphone is making them look worse but its not ATT's fault on that, it was apple not getting their process to them early enough. I guess ATT took the hit since iphone just upped a new contract to have it as an ATT exclusive for a bit longer.

I hate it for you. How far into your neighborhood are you? In newer residential areas the DSLAM is usually located on the main road entering the neighborhood and covers quite a bit of ground thanks to fiber and ATT's use of coaxial cable.

The iphone is a different topic but ATT has a lot of blame on it's shoulders and many articles can be found all pointing to about 5 reasons. But that is a different topic.
