I have been making sigs on my fancy shmancy Mac. every time i go to add text, (preview -tools - text tools) i can't do it. instead of black/ being able to be highlighted, it's gray, and i can't pick it. the only other way i was able to change the text - Show fonts - now says hide fonts.

what the heck do i do?!?!

Are you doing this while highlighting the correct layer with the text?

I use gimp.

But to be honest, I haven't made a sig in a while.

What program are you in trying to do this? Photoshop?

i've done it while the text is highlighted and not.

when i open a picture, i'm able to edit them - it is opened by preview. but all of a sudden, i can't add text.

ImageWell is a great little program for adding text, resizing, and creating canvases.

It's a third party app, but you should be able to find it easily enough.

Gimp is fantastic, but a bit bloated for something as simple as sig pic making.
