Hey, if she didn't get tasered, you'd have people bitching about ageism.

If this was about a 72 year old great grandmother tasing a cop no one would care.

Tazering is a little bit excessive in the case. The Woman obviously isn't endangering the Officer in any way. If she puts her hands on him then arrest her for assaulting a Police Officer and be done with it.

Cops should be having a routine ticket stop turning into a scene like this. Control the situation without the need for excessive force, especially when the Woman is half your size and old enough to be your Grandmother.

Whats he gonna do with a car load of Teens? Start shooting when they spit thier gum on the floor.

No. A citation is issued in lieu of an arrest. The signature is a promise to appear in court on the date on the ticket. This promise allows the subject to be released from detention and avoid spending time in jail. If someone refuses to sign a citation, then they get arrested because they have failed to promise to appear in court to address the issue of the alleged crime. She was arrested for refusing to sign a traffic ticket. The tasing occurred because she was resisting arrest, and putting all parties involved in danger by doing so on the side of a road with active traffic and attempting to return to her vehicle after being placed under arrest. When she did agree to sign the ticket, she had already been placed under arrest, and she stated clearly that she intended to get back into her vehicle against the lawful order of the officer. Did the officer use poor judgement in his use of force? Maybe, but you never get the whole story from a news spot. I noticed the subtle discrimination that the reporters use to imply that elderly people are incapable of harming anyone. Ask the Holocaust Museum guard if all elderly people are harmless old curmudgeons.

She had it coming.

How many times do you need to hear (like a disclaimer), "I'm a 72 year old woman!"

She thought she was safe. But she's a 72 year old asshole.

The bitch got tased. Big deal!

Guaranteed, she was a cunt when she was 30 years old.

It's about time! We somehow fell behind.

Let's watch those wrinkles shimmy and shake. Perfect.

I didn't watch the video, and I'm not going to.

The bottom line is, this asshole pig tasered an old lady. Any cop using a taser on anyone should die in a flaming car wreck. Fucking jerkoffs. How did you do your job before the taser you pussy? Pick on someone your own age/size you subhuman prick. You're only here to extort money from the public to feed the state's coiffers. Any allusion to safety and public service is a pure farce, it's simply a by-product of their system of highway robbery.

Did it occur to you that the 72 year old woman may have been MORE injured had she resisted arrest while trying to be cuffed? That is the reason for the taser. Try actually watching the WHOLE video before you make any judgements.

Don't even try to reason with this kind of priveleged anarcho-mumbo-jumbo. Just add ", maaaaan!" after every sentence, like this:

"You're only here to extort money from the public to feed the state's coiffers, maaaaaan!"

Old people have it coming. If more old people were tased on a daily basis this world would be a better place.

Maybe they'd stop driving into market places and killing people if they were under constant threat of getting tased.

They should really consider tasing the old folks at the grocery store, they're rude, slow and always leave their carts blocking the aisles

The title certainly is disturbing, and I was afraid of this one.

But after watching the tape, the officer did act properly.
He had cuffs in his hands and she resisted.
Could he have forced her into the cuffs? I'd guess so.
But her continued resistance may have led to bruises or broken bones,
maybe even a broken hip...which she'd blame the cop for of course.

He warned her, she continued resisting, and he tasered her, ending the incident safely and without injury. Distasteful? Yes, but not everything a cop has to do would settle well with
your average citizen.

The reporters and anchors in this montage are the disgusting ones.

I think people are being ultra sensitive in Texas because this state already has a bad rep around the country and people don't want to condone something other may see as bad.

I don't blame the cop here at all. Like you when I saw the headline I cringed but it wasn't excessive. Good for him, same treatment for all. If I get out of line Chris you have full permission to taser me.

I saw a different video of this on NBC news, and she was fucking asking for it. She had her hands on the cop, yelling at him, and at one point said "I dare you to tazer me." He warned her many times.

I'm usually on the side of the people, but in this case she should've just signed the ticket instead of being a bitch.

Chigworthy

Signing a ticket is not an admission of guilt. Just sign the fucking thing and you don't go to jail.
