Enough with the food network antics. Making them cook in a dorm room is idiotic. How about the twist in challenges is based on something having to do with the food? And that asian broad ain't no Padma. On the wikipedia, it says they are making a top chef juniors, which would work better with the silly circumstances to challenges.

Is this a weekly thing or just a one time special?

It's going to be a one time special for me.

I liked it.
With 6 spaces in the championship round, it is looking like this will be at least a seven or eight week run. I am hoping one of these weeks they will have former Top Chef champs compete for a position in the championship round.
I was really rooting for Tim Love...he beat Iron Chef Morimoto in Kitchen Stadium ferchrissakes! (Still my fav episode of Iron Chef America. Chili Battle...look for it, Love and his crew must have downed 6 shots during the hour...look out for the Tuna ribs and broiled femur bones, YUM!)
I like the judges. If you want to be the best you get judged by the best.
My only complaint so far is that I miss Padma.

watching the recorded episode now. Is the woman who won the quickfire going to win? Keller won the quickfire and the episode last week.

last nights episode was the most boring episode of top chef ever. i actually stopped watching at one point cause i just didn't care. this season is way below regular top chef.

that was a great episode. love is so lucky that morimoto basically had no idea what any of the chilis tasted like. if he picked flay the battle could have gone the other way real fast. but everything love made looked amazing.

It has been extremely boring. I'm not even sure why. They are all great chefs, it should be interesting to watch. The whole premise sucks, though, I guess.

I think it's because it lacks the drama of regular Top Chef. I've been watching, but only because I find the chefs themselves interesting, not for the competition.
