I'm going to the library after work today in search of a new book to read. I have a few ideas as to what I'm going to get, but can anyone offer a suggestion or two?

As a frame of reference I recenlty read Ocean Sea by Barrico (fucking amazing by the by), Among the Thugs by Bill Buford and 100 Years of Solitude by Garcia Marquez.

I'm a fan of Steinbeck and Vonnegut and more contemporary writers like Foer and Eggers among others.

I used to work as a librarian, until I went back to school, and people would ask me that, obviously, all the time. So, i would suggest you go to your library's website, and see what they suggest as good reads. I know my library is great at doing that (http://www.darienlibrary.org/), and have won awards for their choices and customer service. So, check your library's website, it can only be helpful.

Rabbit, Run by John Updike.

The story of East Side David McDonald.

My favorite book and you will love it so much you will read the entire Rabbit series. The life of a man encapsulated in four volumes.
