I enjoy the studio Ghibli movies as well.

The older anime things are just intriguing.

And they have very interesting stories even some with folklore.

The show is about a gunslinger and the show has a very involved back story with fairly cool battle scenes.

I liked the show, used to watch it when I watched TV. I only saw it on Adult Swim so I'm sure there's a lot more to the series too.

Nope. Standard 26 episode anime series. There is more to the story, and even an alternate version where Wolfwood doesn't dieI believe in the manga, but I haven't read any of it.
