I was watching the original X-Men movie last night for the first time in a long time when I came to the realization that it was pure shit. Every comic book movie is about as good as reading 3-4 issues of your favorite book. None of these movies should ever be made. They attempt to cram as much origin as they can into a 2 and half hour time frame and rush a subpar story after the fact. I refuse to watch this shit anymore.

X-Men 2 and Spider-Man 2 are both better than the originals. Never mind that the third parts of both sucked horse cock.

Wow, first the Jolly Ranchers and now this?
I understand, though, if the plot was a bit much for your geriatric brain....maybe i can sit you down and explain it to you sometime....very, very slowly.

I would agree with you that non of them are bad movies, but there's only a few that I'll actually re-watch.
I've never seen the Crow or Road to Perdition, I've heard great things about both though, i gotta check them out.

Dark Knight fails on the sole reason of Bale's voice as Batman.

The difference is in the movie being based on a longstanding series or on a 1-shot, graphic novel.

Ive read plenty of them and I couldnt disagree more.
Dark Knight
Sin City
Spider-Man 2
Ironman
Batman Begins
X-Men 2
All were great comic book movies. Then again if you think they all suck, instead of them stopping making them, how about you stop going to see them?

in a comic book movie being good, the ones most people have listed, v for vendetta included were graphic novels not ongoing series.

you are now my favorite person ever.

v for vendetta was a mini series. so was watchmen. these were NOT graphic novels. if you are going to the store and buying them all in one collection, thats what it is. it is a COLLECTION. a trade paperback, as its called.
if you want to talk graphic (ugh) novels, think a contained story. the death of capatin marvel is a graphic novel. that hulk versus thing from back in the day - graphic novel. bride of the demon, gn. the alcoholic - graphic novel. sandman? NOT A GRAPHIC NOVEL.
listen kids, ill snob out here for you. stop calling it a graphic novel to look like youre more mature or hipper than other people. call it what it is, its a comic book. its (at one time anyway) 4 colored sequential art. and its wonderful. :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

Fuck dude wish I could get so excited about a post on a board, and why do they call the watchmen a graphic novel if it isn't by your definition?
I was making the case for an ongoing series vs. A "mini series" or whatever your definition for it is.

I just call any comic collected in book form a "graphic novel." I don't give a shit calling them "comics" or "comics books" or "trades." It's all the same thing, just different printing techniques.
