Mine went from 212 in Dec 08 and now its 174. I think its due to near vegetarian diet and increased exercise.
So what is your cholesterol level? +/- 200? Is it something that you are actively working on to control?

Mine is 140 something total tested in Dec 08. My HDL (good) is real low at 35 because Germans from my area of decent have a genetic reason for this. My triglycerides are fairly low (despite the beer) so I am good. My liver function testing still shows a great healthy liver and my kidney function test says I am healthy.

I wowed the doc (and myself) with a 75. She retested it in February with a longer fast before the test and it was still super low.
She said something like: "Joe, your cholesterol levels are ideal. But you're fucking with a heart attack anyway."

You certainly are not old dear, but I would certainly get it tested. The last thing you want to do is find out there is a problem lingering.

Not that I am aware of, but the test at a lab is cheep and fully covered by most insurance since it is preventative medicine.

Local (I think) org here called Community Blood Center (http://www.savealifenow.org/index.php)- a member of America's Blood Center. You get an online profile and it has records of your BP, temp, and Cholesterol levels as kind of a benefit for donating.

 Mine's been +200 the last two years I got a physical. I skipped last year because I'm bad and I didn't want to hear a lecture or that I might have to take medicine. But my diet is better and I've been working out several times a week since February so I'm assuming it's gone down. I need to actually go take my physical this year.

You should have my doctor perform your physical. She's really nice, soft spoken and gentle, plush she gives a thorough breast exam.

Is she Indian?...Late 20's?... Is her first name Binita? At my GP's office she gave me my last physical and just when it started getting good (cough test) she went right for the money (finger test) and walked out. I was waiting for at least a kiss on the forehead, but it was over...
I felt so used.
she gives a thorough breast exam.
So will I.

Last time I had it checked (about a year ago) it was 171. The weird measurement was my triglycerides. My number was 36, where the "desired" number is 150 or under. My husband got a 236 there. Mine just seemed freakishly low.
My HDL (good cholesterol) was 65 (desired is above 40) and my LDL (bad cholesterol) was 98 (desired is under 100).
Not bad, though I don't think I eat that healthy. I think it's because I'm a vegetarian.
