Rockers THE CULT are planning a world tour featuring just the music from their hit 1985 album LOVE.
Band founders Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy insist the seminal album is their best - and they'll play it from start to finish on tour this summer (09). The album features the hits She Sells Sanctuary, Revolution and Rain.
Astbury says, "The Love album was made with 100 per cent pure earnestness. It's a pure album and it's so much more in harmony with where I'm at right now. I feel more connected to that record than probably any other record The Cult made."

I wouldn't see them, but She Sells Sanctuary is in my top 5 favorite songs.

Pretty much. I'm sure they save it for the encore.

I love The Cult's records. All of 'em.
But Ian sure does ssssuck live. I eventually had to stop going. His voice just can't get through a whole show.

Well, Love is only 10 songs. Maybe his voice can make it through.

I saw 'em open for Metallica 20 years ago. I wasn't a huge fan, but I thought they were the better band that night, then again It could be that I was already jaded as a young boy, thinking "exploding Lady Justice statue? This is retarded..."

The performed "Fire Woman" on the MTV awards just a few days after that tour ended and Ian's voice was in terrible condition. He really should've canceled that appearance. It sounded like somebody punched him in the neck. Worse than Chris Cornell on SNL.

i saw them a few years ago at the nokia theater in times square. it was a good night. they didn't do my favorite song though because it's pretty obscure, but i thought the show was great.

If his voice gives out... Adam Lambert could fill in.

hahahah, the actual Fark headline wasn't even funny: The Cult are back on tour and will only be playing songs from 1985's "Love." Rock on
I love The Cult, but I never saw them live. That's a bummer about Astbury's voice live, he's one of my favorite vocalists.

"Sun King"? "Comin' Down"? "Wild Hearted Son"? No... I got it, "American Horse"?

Still one of the best, most unique, most easily recognizable bands on the globe. It's just... nobody can sing like that for more than 5 minutes. (including Ian himself)
The albums are stellar. That's all that matters.
