OK, so my buddy let me borrow his Wii. Fucking thing is fun as hell. I was spending hours just playing Wii Sports. But then, certian situations popped up where I suddenly got the ability to shall we say, rapidly aquire games. (Thanks little Chinese guys!)

So now I got like 10 fucking games for it. Been playing Super Paper Mario and Super Mario Galaxies A LOT. Very entertaining games.

Does anyone have any suggestions on MUST PLAY games for this system? I currently have Resident Evil 4, Metal Slug Anthology, Mad World, Zelda:Twilight Princess, Metroid 3, Super Paper Mario, Super Mario Galaxies and Punch Out!.

What else do I need to play on this thing? Also, anyone know what the best baseball game is for the system? Even though I can't stand watching sports I have always enjoyed playing a baseball video game for whatever reason.

Thanks.

Just a heads up, I hate racing games. So I passed on Mario Kart. I think I'll get that Smash Bros. game only because....well, it's easy now, but I hated the 1st one for Gamecube so that one is like last on my list.

There are no good baseball games, this has been my biggest disappointment so far with the Wii.

I didn't like Super Smash Bros. either as it is all just button mashing to me.

Good games:

Call of Duty World at War
The Godfather: Blackhand Edition
Okami
Battalion Wars 2

Make sure you spend plent of time with Metroid, madWorld and Resident Evil 4. Beyond that if you like rail shooters Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is pretty fun. Wario Land: Shake It! is a fun 2D platformer.

As for baseball you can try the latest 2K sports baseball game. I don't know if its any good but if you are looking for a "real" tpye baseball game as opposed to kiddie/mini game type baseball that is your only option.

Zelda and Resident Evil are two highly addictive games. Excellent games.

Ok.. I have xbox360 and love it...but have been wondering about wii for awhile...

Should I go ahead and buy it to supplement xbox? or is it a one or the other situation?
Ive never ever played a wii, but thought it was a cool idea til I saw the initial cartoony style of its graphics. I'm guessing thats changed. Wii fit also intrigues me.

While youre helping Moe, feel free to help me with this decision too. Thanks.

It depends on what kind of gamer you are. I'm an xbox/wii owner. I use the wii for more local multiplayer experiences more then anything else. Some games that showcase the wii nicely are: Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Galaxy, De Blob, and Boom Blox. If your interested in those types of games then most definitely think about getting a wii. Ontop of that you have the Classic games on the virtual console. Don't expect a great online community like xbox. It's just not there. It's getting better but I don't have high hopes for it being more then it currently is. If you like hardcore games then you have Zelda and This November the whole Metroid Prime series is coming out on one disc. They just announced New Super Mario Bros. for the wii(another multiplayer experience), and Super Mario Galaxy 2(with yoshi!). The $250 is quite steep for the system in my opinion. You really need to love some of these franchises in order for it to be worth your money. The new wii sports resorts with wii motion plus looks really fun too.

wario: shake it (or something like that) is an amazingly fun game, awesome graphics and very old school (2d) while applying current gen philosophies. really really fun. lots of replay value, and the only game ive played to reference John Coltrane in its music. woo.

RESIDENT EVIL 4 is fucking awesome on Wii. You definitely want to play that one. I liked Super Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess as well.

It would be more awesome if you could play it using the Wii Zapper attachment.

Moe, even if you don't like racing games TRUST ME you need Mario Kart. If you link up and play online it's fucking awesome, even if their online gaming platform overall isn't that solid (no talking links). And yes, expand on this relatively knew way to get games.

Cooking Mama (I really didn't think I would like it, but love it) and Trauma Center: Second Opinion. They're more like mini games, but surgery and cooking are fun.

I have to be honest, I got bored with RE4. I played it on Gamecube, lost interest. I have the REAL Wii version of it, I'll give it another shot after I finish other games.

Yea I keep hearing that, I guess I'll just "acquire" it.

And as for what happened, I really don't know if I can expand on it in this public forum. I could link you to what I did but I'm fairly certain the Mods and Admins here don't want links of that nature on the site.

I'll just say there's a solder in chip (you need micro soldering capabilities to do it yourself) and a chip bridge in between the DVD drive and the Wii(very easy to install with the security screw driver to open the case). Both allow you to play "legal back ups" of games. I don't think it's 100% legal to get those in this country though. And I don't engage in such activity in an apartment building in Kearney.

I got that Wario Shake game coming. Looking foward to trying out Dead Rising and Mario Sluggers tomorrow. I still REALLY need to break into Zelda but I'm too hooked on Paper Mario.

I got Smash Bros. Brawl but it's gonna be the last thing I try, I hated the original on Gamecube. I just didn't find any real technique, there was like one "attack" button and it got retarded.

How about posting a good google search term or phrase to get us started.

Super Smash Bros. FTW!!!!!!!!!! Not a good game if you've been drinking and doing coke all night and you have housemates trying to sleep in the next room, it gets alittle rambunctious. And by housemates I mean little brother.

I found the term "wii key" to be helpful. Not sure how you can get one here safely, but it may help you.

Bored w/ the GC verizon or the Wii version. The Wii version is super fun: Zombie Wiimote headshots.

My boredom with the Gamecube version kinda carried over to the Wii version. I will give it another chance but I was just like "eh" when I put it in the machine. I'd rather Paper Mario and Galaxies.

I just picked up The Munchables. I am loving it! Lots of fun, kind of like Katamari Damacy. And it's one of the $30 games, which is awesome.
