I have an idea.

I don't want to just give it away because I have been writing it up for the past few weeks.

It's a website for let's say consumer advocacy.

However, besides the ideas, I have no ability to create my own website at all.

I want it to make use of a vBulletin like message board, incorporate ratings, and able to be searched easily.

Also, in an effort to make the initial costs low, I would obviously need to look into advertisements and/or sponsors.

Do any of you know the process by which one makes a website?

If you are interested in this proposal, feel free to PM me.

If you just want to offer support on what I can do to get this idea off the ground, post away.

Thanks in advance...

p.s. This is not a joke. I am serious.

BlueHost as the hosting service
and we bought vBulletin
for the actual board

very easy to work with
my boss would be ticked
if i put a link here
because it is a 'professional' site
we even have password- protected
forums

could not have been any easier

well it is such a broad topic. there are many ways to set up a website, and it is probably the easiest step. the hard part is the content, getting people to visit the site, and then return to the website.

anyone can setup a website these days and the web is so saturated with those kinds of sites. you really have to work hard to make your site stand out................. it may take a lot of money to see any return.

Vbulletin is pricey there is PhBB which is open source and free. The trade off is that you sometimes have to peace mill your site together which is not hard. And I highly recommend BlueHost, (for server) they have been awesome to me over the past 6 years and the price is right.
