Fucking check out this BULLSHIT!

Just saw this on a friend's Facebook update. I had it on my machine, have to check my laptop and netbook now.

Fucking Microsoft snuck in an add on that helps put software on your machine faster. You can disable it but the story goes on to say it's not suggested you remove it. Thanks fucking asshole Microsoft. You suck. I hate when they do this shit.

Yes, it's hard to click disable.

This story has been blown out of proportion.

I agree it's not the end of the world, just annoying.

It's not even that. People act like MS "snuck" this on their machine without notice. Which is a lie. Yes, they installed it without asking you, but as soon as you opened firefox after it was installed the addon box opens up to show you new addons have been installed, which you can just disable right there.

I've known this framework addon has been there for months. It's weird but the bloggers, apple fan boys and linux script kiddies are carrying this story further then it should have.

Listen, I'm no Apple fanboy, I'm PC through and through, so that means I've dealt with Windows quite a bit.

They snuck it on and disabled the uninstall button. That's fucking gay, I don't want shit I didn't ask for on my comps, no matter what.

What's more is that they sneak a MS update through firefox!! If it were IE and they present this option from the program coming on, ok. People are likely using Firefox for a reason, and that is to avoid MS programs and vulnerabilities.

Thank god they leave my OPERA alone. (for now)

just disable it, if it's so bothersome that it HAS to be removed just export your bookmarks to html, then uninstall ff and all profiles, reboot and reinstall ff, import your html bookmarks and reinstall your add-ons.

chances are if it's been a while, it'll be a good thing and ff will be speedy since it gets slow over time, especially if you use a lot of add-ons.

and people can bitch & moan about them doing this but the EULA tells you they have every right to do this to their software so when you clock OK, you agree to it.

If you run a solid AV and or firewall nothing will get through this vulnerability without your permission anyway.

sidenote : I'm running Vista 64 Ultimate and I went from 4 gig of ram to 8 - holy shit this might be the fastest and most responsive/stable OS I've ever used, and I loved XP.

I was terrified of Vista, since I only seemed to come across negative comments about it. My FIL said he loved it and I thought he was just going crazy. I had to buy a new computer a few weeks ago, and now I love this damn OS.

64 bit is great, the 32 bit is more of a pain in the ass I hear. I still had to turn of UAC and a few other small issues but now when I use XP I feel like I'm using an old PC. I haven't given 7 a try because of some well known gaming issues but once that's resolved on public release I'll make the move.

What gaming issues? I've moved my COD4 files to an external drive and play across OS's, no reinstall necessary, just moved some directx files over. I've also been playing combat arms with no problem. Spore's next.

I saw it several times but for some reason, I didn't even think about the fact that it said Microsoft on it, and ignored it.

sad that you have to announce yourself as not being an "apple fanboy"

anywho, the problem with this stuff is that the majority of PC users (your parents) have no idea when shit like this happens.

Now people can uninstall it and have virtually nothing change with the way their internet browsing acted before.
