View Full Version : songs that make your skin crawl
Dude!
06-01-2009, 10:12 AM
the ones that you hear
just the first few notes
and you instantly change
the channel
the ones that deeply annoy
nay, sicken you
the ones like fingernails
on a blackboard
i heard two this morning
within minutes of each other:

Anything, and I mean anything, by that hack George Thurgood.
Also anything by Gretchen Wilson.
Mostly anything by Sheryl Crow w/ " If It Makes You Happy " leading the way and damn near everything by that pillow biter Kenny Chesney.

I may hate Celine Dion, but I truly loathe anything from Titanic ... even the instrumental version of My Heart Will Go On is cringeworthy.
My sophomore-year college roommate played that song on a continuous loop for 3 days after the movie cleaned up at the Oscars.
I hate that movie.
I hate that French-Canadian no-talent bitch
I hate composer John Horner.

Even worse is that Kid Rock mashup of Skynyrd and Zevon.
I have a good friend who listens to this on constant loop....in his jacked-up diesel Excursion.....With more than a couple of subwoofers......Rockin' his mullet. Yes, in 2009. No, not in the south.
I love him so I can't talk shit. Still, there's a bit of comedy to be found there.

I recently did a top 5 list of the worst songs ever, my number 1 was Cher's "Believe" (which i think everyone agrees is awful) but my number 2 choice I had to look up the name of it on youtube. I knew it was a jennifer lopez song so i had to watch J. Lo videos til i found it
This song sounds like a fucking alarm clock is going off during the whole thing. I know nothing about music production but i don't understand how anyone could find this to be a pleasurable song to listen to at all. All it makes me wanna do is get out of bed...its so terrible
I dare you to listen...

the worst thing about "Eye of the Tiger" is when people use it to spoof Rocky. Its so overdone...who can laugh at that anymore? I can't think of anything comedically more over-used than the guy getting in shape and playing that shitty song

I know I will get shit for this ... but I hear Bob Marley and I can't get to the button quick enough. 2 years of on-campus living in Oneonta made it so I can't hear the mans music ever again.
Any of the pussy, whiny bullshit music a lot of you are into.
That includes Pink Floyd, Radiohead, and Ryan Adams.
Boo hoo hoo.
Life is so sad.
Shut the fuck up and rock.

there are many genres i can't stand
at my office in NY there was someone who would occasionally like to listen to the Jazz channel and that stuff makes me wanna blow my brains out. I can handle a good Zappa rock/jazz fusion but there is something about pure jazz i just can't listen to for the life of me

Now we have to fight. I didn't want to, but if that's how it's gonna be, that's how it's gonna be.
And for me, it's that pathetic "Proud to be an American" song. Actually, most all country music made after, say, 1990.

OK, I'll be a little less harsh on Horner the composer for the stuff that's not Titanic. I hated EVERYTHING about Titanic; the film made my butt go numb.
