Time Warner has pulled my favorite channel, HDNet, off the air. I watch it (and it's other channel HDNet Movies) for MMA, Wrestling, Movies, Concerts, News Programs, Trailer Shows, etc. in the best HD of any channel.

Their claim is that there is not enough interest in it, which we all know is a crock of shit excuse as they continue to have channels in the line-up that I would surprised got more than 5 viewers (Fit TV anyone?). It's always a money issue with Time Warner, and I am really getting sick of going through this shit with them. Still no NFL Network, annoyances in the past with Viacom Channels, SNY and Yes going down the the last minute and now HDNet.

I generally just let these things pass, but this time I am really looking at DirecTV and FIOS, both of which have NFL Network and HDNet. I even wrote a goddammned e-mail to Time Warner even though I know it was probably a colossal waste of time.

He was on the B. S Report asking people to call Time Warner to keep them from dropping the service.

Hope it keeps up, they're just driving the content to other forms of digital distrubution and speeding up the inevitable death of cable's media dominance... Keep making us get what we want somewhere else, dumb fucks

Time Warner Cable's agreements with HDNet and HDNet Movies are expiring on May 31 2009. Both channels currently reside on our pay Premium HD Tier which is available in all upgraded systems throughout the Region.

HDNet will only allow us to keep these channels if we move HDNet to the Digital Basic Tier. We believe HDNet is a premium product and should be sold as part of an optional premium HD tier, exactly how we have currently been carrying HDNet and HDNet Movies. After extensive negotiations, we have parted amicably with HDNet. Consequently, Time Warner Cable will discontinue carriage of HDNet and HDNet Movies across in the Carolinas and through out the company on or before May 31, 2009.

Time Warner Cable wants to effectively communicate our position with our customers so that they understand our reasoning for removing this programming. Even more importantly, we want to let our valued customers know that we are adding new, high-quality programming, with recognized brands for distinct audience appeal, to our premium HD tier.

Time Warner sucks. I wasn't bothered when I moved into my building to find that they were pre-wired for RCN and FIOS but not Time Warner. The only thing I miss at all is NY1.

I understand that the major cable providers are getting the NFL Redzone channel next year - which is what I watch when I am not watching my real team. It is pretty great - it bounces between all the games and shows you all the major plays - tds - ints - etc...

I coudlnt live without Directv though... and since they are now major shareholders in SIRI I like them even more.

Should we start a NY1 viewing thread? I'm sure we can get blowhard on cam to go through the top newspaper articles of the day for ya.

Actually the only thing I miss it for is being able to turn on the TV and see the temperature. I get weather info from the internet now.

The best thing on HDNET - Get OUT! those hot models sunning it up in cool locations - also camel toe most all the time!
