The only reason you don't like this film is because of the American accent of Robin Hood by Kevin Costner. Otherwise, why do people dislike this film? It's one of those films where no one but you likes that you will defend to the death type films, so I get it, but tell me why. It's fucking awesome. Rebuke me godamnitt! This is a good if not great film, and btw besides his American accent, Costner is very charismatic in the film, which for me erases the lack of british accent. Go.

Despite the fact that it was a comedy, he did a much better job.

Everyone talks about Costner's lack of an accent, but Christian Slater's horrible ultra-accent is even worse. It's like the only British accent he ever heard was Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins.

i recently watched it on one of the HD movie channels and the movie is just an out-and-out disaster. I can't think of one aspect of the movie that isn't an embarrassing clusterfuck to watch. Robin Hood: Prince of Douchechills

I agree with Slumbag Men in Tights is the definitive Robin Hood

I always hated Men in Tights. I loved prince of thieves when I was 13, but as I got older I really started to realize how cheesy it was. .

And its not fair to compare Costners Robin Hood to Men in Tights; any Mel Brooks film is the best of its genre, MIT, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, Space Balls, etc..

Ouch. That one hurt. But Alan Rickman was great.
"Wait a minute. Robin Hood steals money from my pocket, forcing me to hurt the public, and they love him for it?
That's it then. Cancel the kitchen scraps for lepers and orphans, no more merciful beheadings, and call off Christmas."
As he's attempting to rape Marion with Robin Hood trying to break down the door: "I can't do this with all that racket!"
then:
"Do you mind Locksley? We've just been married."
Good shit.

Despite the fact that it was a comedy, he did a much better job.
And unlike most robin hoods, he can speak with an English accent.
Loved men in tights, loved prince of thieves, alan rickman was the shit.

Mel Brooks largely sucks ass if he's mostly behind the development of his films. It's not a conicidence that his best films were mostly written by other people.
