If you grew up on Long Island you probably took a school trip Safety Town in Eisenhower Park. I remember going with my class when I was in 3rd grade and it was the shit. You got to ride a fucking go-cart, then the bikes, then be a pedestrian all while learning about traffic laws. Someone brought it up during dinner tonite and it brought back memories

Anyone else remember ???

suffolk county schools didn't get to go out to Safety Town, at least mine didn't.

they would put a shanty town together in the gym and have pratice traffic safety on little scooters

we never went to Safety Town. We went to Old Bethpage Village Restoration every year, though.

i helped make a hand-hammered nail one year in Ye Olde Blacksmith.

That is my favorite place in the world. I go at least once a year. I missed the sheep shearing festival this weekend.
