If there was no ronfez.net, would you have any issue with it?

I like the board, but if I never signed onto another one, I think I could live. But I like it here, aside from useless features like the blogs and the chatroom. When was the last time someone used those features and the search engine too before posting redundant threads.

I don't understand why people who don't listen to the Ron and Fez show sign up to be a part ronfez.net. Isn't that the point of signing up? How else would you find out about the board?

As a result we've seen this board become more adversarial with the show (and the men) it was created to honor than I would have ever thought possible.

It's kinda sad.

I've got a few more possible trouble spots I've seen but I'll keep quiet.

Since it is clear you are beating your head against a brick wall RE: Mods, term limits, etc., how about you lead by example and try to make things better.

Have reasonable discourse. Defend Ron & Fez. Try to bolster what is right instead of constantly complaining about what is wrong. Help turn this dust bowl into the fertile farmland it once was.

Every time I pointed out things that weren't good for the board or the show I was accused of wishing for the "old days" or some similar nonsense.

Every suggestion I brought up and every negative that I'd shine a light on became a chance to bust MY balls and not deal with the problem.

Therefore, I've given up trying to be constructive in any way.

I truly believe the only hope for a decent message board is to flush this place and start from the beginning.

I agree with you on the majority of the points above - I have seen the change and I have only been here a few years. However, I would still like to try to save the old girl before totally giving up.

There's three problems that contribute to what you see as problems on the board, and I'm not sure any of them would be fixed by blowing it up and starting over.

1) Ron & Fez have a different fanbase now. That's just a fact. The people that listen on XM are vastly different types of people than those who listened on WJFK and WNEW. They attract more hostile fans now, and especially because they've become integrated with O&A on 202, this site has become integrated with Wackbag (at least last time I checked), and so on down the line. None of that is going to change.

2) The boards/PalTalk becoming a topic on the show changed everything. People listen to the show, hear references to the board and think that if they come on hear and say something stupid enough or loud enough, it might get talked about on the air. That's unlikely to change. Ron & Fez like talking about the boards because for as many douchebags that pop up, they seem to genuinely like a lot of the regular callers who post here.

3) MafiaLife Chris syndrome -- people make themselves the center of attention to try and get the attention of the show, or to get themselves talked about on there since they know that Ron & Fez will read the board/look at PalTalk and occasionally talk about people on both. As a result, you get the pissing matches that occur on these boards all the time over complete bullshit. As long as fans get recognition from the show, this will never stop either.
