Depends on the shade. If we're talking more of a lighter shade, yeah I'd have a problem losing it, but if you are talking more of a dark, rich, eggplanty hue, then I have no issues with getting rid of them all.

Lilac is the best! It only blooms for such a short period but it's worth it. It's the New Hampshire state flower and my mom has had a lilac bush in every house since she's lived there. I miss it, there are none down here.

Why would someone want to cut down such a fragrant plant? Its like cutting down honeysuckles, why? Unless you have no sense of smell or are highly allergic to bees or whatever. I was out riding my scooter yesterday and enjoying the perfume of spring which was so soothing, all the flowers in their glorious spring splendor.

Nearly everyone I knew had a lilac bush in their front or backyard growing up. I loved them.

But back to this whole purple business, I'm more a fan of purple shades in decorating esp. paired with shades of green. Purple clothes more in moderation.. or like an eyelet skirt or top in violet.
