So I just watched this for about the 50th time. I don't know if I love it or hate it but it is really a peculiar film.
-Halfway thru the film, Chris Knight (Val Kilmer) takes a test and as he leaves, places an apple on the teachers desk. The teacher throws it in the trash bin. Now Chris walks out and a second later, BOOM! The apple explodes.
Now I'm no disciplinarian, but a student pretty much handed a teach a IED. And there was no consequences.
-And how the fuck did they get Kent's car into his dorm room? I know these kids are smart but it seems like a ton of work.
-What the hell is Mitch, exactly? He's one of the most feminine, odd looking people I've ever seen. Yet somehow, he gets a chick.

-Finally, that's a ton of popcorn. And it just pops so damn fast. Some of the local kids start eating it. It just got popped by some random laser and came exploding out of a house. It's probably got glass and uranium and shit on it and these dumb kids just jump right in. Disgusting. Yet its a dream of mine to this day that it happens to my neighbor's house. I'd probably jump right in too.

Then cue 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World'. I tear up everytime.
I'm seriously getting worried about you, savage.

It's a school for geniuses, they let them get away with more.
I want to know how, in all this crazy rambling, you forgot the ice hallway that the students were skating down.

Actually we did, but if not for the credits, I would have never recognized him.
If you saw The Karate Kid Part 3 he was the guy in the club who Daniel punched in the face and broke his nose.

OK, I love this movie. This is part of Val Kilmer's brief golden era, along with Top Secret, which I have also seen one jillion times.
The car prank is an established prank done on campuses like MIT, Rice, and Caltech. Don't worry your community college head about it.
"I'm sorry but it's not like me, I'm depressed. There was what, no one at the mutant hamster races, we only had one entry into the Madame Curie look-alike contest and he was disqualified later. Why do I bother?"

Not nearly as insane as the indoor water park they built. And what babes!
And Mitch was in Frost/Nixon last year.

Well, it was just on Encore and I watched again. A few more observations:
-Mitch is a 15 year old, boy genius. His love interest is a 19 year old girl who, from all appearances down to the Moe Howard haircut, is retarded. Very autistic at best.
-They build this laser that is, according to Kent, 'hotter than the sun'. So what do they do? Blindly shoot it across campus. It goes through walls, statues, billboards. A student could have easily been walking through the quad at that time and had a giant laser rip through them. Pretty reckless stuff.
-Kent, this is Jesus. STOP MASTURBATING!

First off, I went to university. Secondly, this isn't the old 'car in a tight spot' prank. They seemingly move it from the parking lot to Kent's room between the time he enters the building and when he gets to his room.
Furthermore, watch the scene again. The car is breathing or something. They put it on hydrolics and play snoring noises over it.

OK, yeah, they disassemble the car and reassemble it in the room, they have also pimped it out with a hydraulics kit so it looks like it's breathing.
I don't think anyone has ever gone that far, but it's a movie.

It was the speed with which they did it.
And what's with Laslo? We're supposed to like this character who lives thru Chris' closet and wasted his gift of being a genius on prize raffles?
