This isn't a woe is me thread.

Furtherman, I enjoyed my birthday quite a bit and feel pretty good with everything going on right now.

Basic story, I went to a bar on my b-day and I met this girl. She was staying in town for awhile visiting family before heading back to the good ol' south. I buy her a shot, give her my number (I'm too drunk to realize I never got hers) and that was that. The next day she calls, I didn't notice the number though since I never got it, and kind of ignored the call. She didn't leave a message so I figured it was a wrong number.

I call the number back however and upon hearing her voicemail I realize it's her and leave a message. She calls me back the next day asking if I want to do something. I was with my friend so we both go to her house and have some drinks and just shoot the breeze. My friend wants to go home and he's my ride so I leave. I get to my house, and for whatever reason, decide to call her back and see if she wanted company. I wasn't tired and why the hell not. She said yes.

I walk to her house. We go for a little walk. Go back to her house and sit in her back yard on a swing she says. We talk for awhile and I make a move. So we're hooking up and it's getting pretty heated. We slow down a bit and have that kind of awkward moment where we realize that kind of just came out of nowhere.

I tell her I should get going because I had to watch my niece in the morning. She says that I could spend the night and she'd set the alarm. I'm obviously going to get laid if I stay. I elect to go home though because I want to/have to be there with my niece.

She says she understands and we walk to the front of her house and we kiss goodnight. It got quite heated again. I start thinking that my niece would be fine on her own. Clearer heads prevail and I go home.

I'm just baffled at how I could walk away from getting laid by a very pretty girl who obviously wants/ed me. She called me this afternoon asking what I was doing. We hung out but her cousins were around so nothing happened. She leaves tomorrow to go back home.

I'm not sad or anything. Just kind of shocked at myself. Then again, from previous threads I really shouldn't be.
