I love this show and if you like dancing shows you should definitely check it out. I've been watching since Season 3 and it gets better every year. It's from the producers of American Idol but with a much better host. They have 2 permanent judges and rotate guest judges every week for the third seat. I even dragged my poor, poor husband to go see the live show with me after last season finished. He must really love me.

The audition shows are a little annoying, but the competition performances are beautiful and inspiring. Every season we get some amazing breakdancing, a hot-ass Russian ballroom dancer, and a lyrical dancer who can open a beer bottle with her abs. It's the only reality show I've ever loved.

I'm so glad I found a buddy to talk about the show with! There's such an amazing variety of dancers and I am amazed every season. Plus they pick so many styles of dance to showcase I've really been educated. And almost all of them have amazing bodies and they certainly show them off with their outfits.

Har, I think this might be the first actual all-ladies thread on R&F - I have only seen the first half of last night's show because I was at a Portland R&F meetup- but the first couple auditions were AMAZING!

I cant believe i missed it! Everything said and more. It is really one of the most original shows on tv now. after you watch the performances you feel like you left a broadway ballet.

I LOVE it so much. Obviously the auditions bring out the reality factor but the rest is truly amazing to watch.

My wife loves this show because she's a dancer herself. She watches every year. I've seen a few episodes, but it really doesn't pull me in. I think it's because that screaming judge causes pain to my soul.

The auditions are my least favorite part of the show but there have been some really good ones this year. I can't wait until it gets to Vegas week and the show starts.

Mary is starting to annoy me for real. She's becoming a caricature of herself.

Well the voting shows have started and it's off to a great start. I think the quality of the top 20 is good, I didn't know if it would live up to last year but it did, at least this week.

Any early favorites? Jason and Caitlin stood out (the Bollywood routine) and I think Kayla (blondie) and Melissa (the ballerina) are really good too.

Performance show tonight, I'm really enjoying this season. I think the choreographers are coming up with some great routines and in general all the contestants are delivering. I might be the only one watching though. :huh:

I'm sad to see Tony go. I really enjoy the hip hop routines and it doesn't look like they're going to be able to get many good ones in because all the dancers seem to be of different genres.

I'm going to say that so far, I haven't been too impressed with the routines or the dancers. I think they were way too generous with the praise for a few of the routines last week. The david archuletta looking dude with the forgettable philipino or asian chick last week did a really good job. They also haven't gotten the sexy girl or guy going - none of the guys are particularly hot.

Either way I'm hooked. I don't have a favorite at all yet. I'm really excited about tonight.

You're right, the dancers aren't quite as good as last season and after some of this year's performances I tend to be disagreeing with the judges. I think they're pumping some of them up too much. I guess they have a show to sell.

I missed the kick off show on Thursday and my DVR didn't record it. Who got kicked off?

This season is definitely not as good as the last. They are good dancers but no fun personalities like Twitch, Joshua, Gev, etc.

But I'm very excited there is a fall season so we won't have to wait long for the next run and maybe some more fun people will get through. I'm really enjoying the dancing though. Except hip hop. No one is that good at it this season.
