Steve Earle just appeared on WFUV and I happen to be walking by the building they broadcast from when he was coming out.

In listening to the show, it mentioned that he was on The Wire. I never knew that.

Did you talk to him about his singing appearance on "Kidney Now"?

You should have told him to just give up on hair.

Did he grab his suspenders and say "Did I do that?"

He already gave up on pants.

He also performed the theme song for the fifth season.

Unfortunately, it's probably the worst version of the song.

My favorite musician!

I was listening to the show on the Fuv. He completely lost his accent.
The new townes album is really good, by the way. I would've love to hear him cover "flyin' shoes"

The best is, that he finally sounds happy. New york is suiting him.

I met him about 10 years ago when he did a small acoustic show at a Border's Books.

I told him I really wished he'd smash his electric guitars and never try playing one again.

He looked at me like I was weird.

Were your balls out?

I don't think so, but anything's possible.

I like his acoustic stuff best too, but one of the things i admire most about him is his ability to write songs in so many different styles. Lyrically, I don't think he's as good as van zandt (his mentor, along with guy clark) but musically I think he surpasses him.

Been stuck on El Corazon for about a month now. Love Steve Earle.

I had a chance to see Bright Eyes the last time I was in NYC. He was having guest musicians show up every night of his 8 night run. I had a chance to go to the Monday show or the Thursday for free, but decided to buy a ticket to the Wednesday cause a friend was going that night.

I got Ben Gibbard for a special guest.

Monday was Steve Earle.

Thursday was Lou Reed.

Fuck me.

I hope that you mean by "special guest" Steve Earle and Lou Reed told Oberst "Get the fuck off my stage, douchebag" and played by themselves.

That's basically what happened with Gibbard. It's kinda weird to me how accepted he's been by legit musicians when most of his fans are emo girls.

But I actually like some of his stuff.

(obviously if i went to the flippin show, eh?)
