Phil Mickelson’s wife, Amy, has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and the three-time major champion says he will suspend his PGA Tour schedule indefinitely.

Mickelson’s management company says Amy Mickelson will begin treatment with major surgery as early as the next two weeks.

This is definitely the meanest thing I've ever posted on this board.

If they are saying "major surgery", it means it's either pretty advanced or they have to remove what she had put in (fakes) to get at the tumors.

Not necessarily.

Many women now don't want to live in fear, so they opt for the mastectomy over the lumpectomy. Also, on the plus side for Mrs. Mickelson, if the cancer hasn't spread to her lymphatic system, she could conceivably skip radiation and chemo after the mastectomy/reconstruction surgery and get back to her life sooner.
